Cercis canadensis 'Midnight Express' Redbud
This specimen tree provides more than one season of interest. It starts with bright pink, pea-shaped blooms lining each branch in the springtime. From there, it grows large, heart-shaped foliage with dark burgundy coloring that shifts to a dynamic show in summer with emerald green hints. It grows in a more upright manner and fills out faster than Forest Pansy redbud. In fall when the interior foliage has butterscotch yellow coloring while the exterior leaves remain burgundy and red.
